Lynda donated a bag of the new Iams, the one that the ground rice was replaced with corn grits or some such thing. Now I'm not sure if they changed more than that but my guess is they did. I use 4 cups of Iams in the daily recipe I make (I also use 3 cups of Totally Ferret for older ferrets) and when I started using the changed Iams, the texture of the recipe became gritty and the ferrets don't like it. Now it's obvious to me if they had added more meat the recipe wouldn't have a grainy texture so.... Anyway the ferrets don't like the recipe as well as before so there was a big enough change in the formulation that the ferrets taste buds noticed. Scooby is doing well. Yesterday he learned to climb up and down two steps. Down he goes slow but up he gallops. The steps are big so he has to get a good start. He continues to grow and rumor has it he's eating hard kibble. Our 7+yr old sable Shadow (we have an albino Shadow too) has decided to mother Scooby. Last night I watched as she cleaned him thoroughly as he slept. :-) Otis and Meethos still haven't accepted him so we're working on that. Minge plays vigorously with Scooby, then tries to drag him off with me hot on his tail. I was looking at Scooby last night and noticed he's grown so much in the week he's been with us. His body fits his head but his feet are still big. He should be a big boy. We are on Bob's list so I'm anxiously awaiting his visit on his way back home. :-) I want to see the ferrets mob him and see if Pumkin tries to intimidate him. Dancer left us. It was her time, she was ready and I was prepared. The others are doing well. Warm hugs to all. tle Troy Lynn Eckart Ferret Family Services http://www-personal.ksu.edu/~sprite/ffs.html http://www.geocities.com/Petsburgh/Haven/5481/ Please sign up to support our charity http://www.iGive.com/html/ssi.cfm?cid=46&mid=58395 [Posted in FML issue 2993]
