I have only ordered from Styles once, and had no problem (and loved the checks). I'm surprised you were told you could reorder over the phone, and not surprised that the person who took that order refused to acknowledge doing it. Taking a check order over the phone is against every fraud-prevention policy in the check printing business! I used to be a fraud-prevention coordinator for the largest check printing company in the US, and you wouldn't believe what folks would do to get their hands on other peoples' money! The biggest issue was people memorizing your account number (standing behind you at the checkout), then they would call the bank or checkprinter and say their address has changed (or that they never received their checks), and give a PO box or fraudulent address. Usually, they would ask for overnight delivery, and then would wait for and meet the delivery person outside, saying, "Oh, those are mine - I've been waiting for them!" and sign for them right then and there. That's why most banks and printers refuse to take potentially fraudulent orders by phone. It's a multi-Billion dollar problem for the banking industry. Be grateful when your bank or printer gives you a hard time about ordering over the phone (especially with an address change) -- they are trying to protect your money! Regarding the Costco article -- the person who wrote the original post is obviously not a business owner. Trust me, whenever you have a chance to advertise and promote your business in a positive light, you do it! What is so wrong with MF accepting an opportunity to gain nationwide exposure? Small businesses crave that kind of attention! If you don't like MF, don't read it; but don't try to make them look bad just because they are promoting their business. From everything I've read, these people have dedicated their lives to this business (anyone who owns a business works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week -- because it's always on your mind).
