It's pretty much the same in my house, except I use an old pet carrier for the time-out space. It has one of the attachable feeders with two sections so they can have food and water, but I don't put any toys in it, unlike the carrier they travel in. Like Debi said, you don't want them to associate their cage or the pet carrier with punishment, so time-outs should be in a place that they associate with being bad. For people on a limited budget, a used pet carrier is a good idea because you can pick up one at a garage sale for a couple of bucks.
