A person on one the dog rescue lists I'm on had a call about a ferret turn
in and needed info - I passed some on and this is her reply.

Thanks for that advice. I'm not going to foster. If I brought it home,
my kids would never let it leave; and I don't need another "critter". The
owner will keep it until it is placed or in another rescue. She said that
it is a very fussy eater. The only thing that she has found that it will
eat is one type of dry cereal and one flavor of baby food meat. So I would
think that it isn't getting a balanced diet. She said that it went for 3
days without eating before she found this and it won't take anything else.
It also has the run of the neighborhood in the warm weather and scratches
on her screen door when it wants to come in. I don't think that is
particularly safe for the little guy. It likes dogs, but not all dogs
like ferrets.

The run of the neighborhood? Holy Cow!
