Hello again my fellow family of ferret lovers, I just wanted to keep all of you posted about how Bandit is doing..I still have yet to hear back from my vet so I am going to be calling once more and ask that he calls me back so I can have some questions that needs answering.. Bandit age 6-7 male neutered sable, weighs in at 3 and one half pounds and was just diagnosed with insulinoma this past November after having un needed surgery from another vet.I just wanted to let all of you know something about my baby in case some of you are new to the FML or forgot..Bandit is still on .5cc's twice a day of prednisone and until my new vet calls me back that is where it will stay.. I want to thank all of you who emailed me privately for suggestions how to force feed him Bob Church's Chicken Gravy..He still wont have anything to do with it but at least stopped gagging when I placed some in his mouth and I will continue to give him some because I knowh his blood sugar must be more regulated then it is ,so he wont have another seizure..I wish I had made some when I first got Bandit because even though no one wants to think about it,once day our baby might get ill and that is not the time to first go and try some new food..If I had given him some from time to time I am sure that by now Bandit would eat the chicken gravy and maybe his sugar level would become more regulated then it is now.. I am going to continue forcing some and hope that he finally sees this chicken gravy isnt so bad after all..I just wanted all of you too know as of today how Bandit was doing and I pray that he doesnt have another seizure again..I will post once my vet calls me back and will let you all know why he wants to stop the prednisone and use the other expensive medicine.. Take care all and hug your babies, Michele and Bandit ~To touch someone....You must first touch their heart~ [Posted in FML issue 2926]
