Due to the fact that I actually have someone coming to visit, I decided that it's that time of year to clean the place up. Now don't get me wrong, I take good care of my ferrets' cage, laundry, food, etc...I'm just a little lax in the rest of the housework. For some reason I think that watching a half dozen ferrets wardance is much more fun than pushing a vacuum cleaner around to chase dust bunnies that the ferrets will eventually harvest on their whiskers....ANYWHO....way off track here... I put the girls in the bathroom for their playtime tonight, since I was lugging boxes to the shed and trash to the dumpster, I didn't want to risk an escape. I tossed in their dig box, toys, food, water, and blankies, and shut the toilet. I left the shower doors open so they could go in and explore, thinking that the worst damage would be the rearranging of my shampoo bottles (which I can't open half the time!) I took a break from the torture..err..cleaning to take a potty/ferret break....4 ferrets climbed into my jeans, I heard *lick lick lick lick lick* coming from the bathtub. Thinking that Binks was sucking up some drips from the faucet, I peeked in. Nope, no drips, but Binks was EATING MY IVORY SOAP! Not picking it up to move or play with it...she was eating it....and was a bit miffed that I had the audacity to take it away! I called the vet, and they said there was nothing to really worry about, other than the fact that I had a pet who would willingly eat soap. Anyone have any idea why she'd do this? She gets different treats every day, is on ZuPreem, Marshall's, Iams Kitten, and 8in1 Ultimate, coated with Nupro Powder. They get ferretvite weekly as a treat, and ferretone during our manicure sessions. I don't know if this would be caused by a vitamin/mineral deficiency in her diet, or what...or could it be that she's just strange? Thanks! Melissa [Posted in FML issue 2929]
