Laura- It's great that Uof I at least has a course that includes ferrets. That
they STILL view them as "exotics" is a bit sad, though. One vet in my area had
a price break-down in his fee schedule for "exotics" that charged a bit more
for routine procedures , simply because the ferret was considered an "exotic"
animal. I asked him to look up the definition for "exotic".  He did and it ran
somthing like "of foreign origin, strange". I noted that MOST of the dog and
cat breeds in this country are "or foreign origin" - German Shepard, Siamese Cat
Rhodesian Ridgeback... Afghan Hound  etc... After a meeting with the partners
at this clinic, he dropped the "Exotic" price list.
 
Everyone - Just a reminder that the 6th Annual Greates Ferret Show on Earth will
be held on Saturday September 11th,1993 at the Du Page County Fairgrounds. I
know this is kinda far in advance, but I had people complaining that two or
 three monyths
wasn't far enough in advance to plan for... For further info write :
