Two things you can do to stop the biting.
First, don't just "tap her nose and say No!", really give her a good
rap on the nose, and SHOUT *NO*, so she really get's the idea you're
serious... if you don't really rap her hard, she'll just think it's a
game... you have to see how hard ferrets play to appreciate this.
 
Second, get some "bitter apple" spray, and put it on your fingers and
let dry before you pick her up. She'll nip your fingers, and get a
NASTY flavored surprise... this also helps in curing this habit.
 
Finally, distemper is a disease which is usually fatal if contracted,
and has nothing to do with your ferret having a bad temper.
 
What are the symptoms of distemper, though? Presumably a odd behaviour?
