Ferret List:

Now is the time for humans to come to the aid of their ferrets :-)

Seriously, the Massachusetts "Natural Resources" committee has a bill
before it which would_legalize ferret ownership in the state. This
bill was redrafted by Tom French of Fisheries and Wildlife and is
acceptable to them (and Beau Bannerman, ferret enthusiast from
Andover has tightened up the writing a bit).

Experienced observers tell us that if Massachusetts goes legal,
New_Hampshire will probably follow, as well as several other
states that are hovering on the brink of updating their anti-ferret
laws. If you are currently_living in MA with ferret(s) or plan on
moving there, you can ensure availability of basic services such as
medical care for ferrets (and remove the risk of pet confiscation)
by supporting this legislation. Write to:

Next Wednesday is the_deadline for the committee to decide whether or
not to pass the bill on to the Senate. We'll post updates to this
list.
