Eg: 5 anon, 37 regular and 42 total.  Approximately 1-2 bounces per issue.
usually from the same addresses.  I have no idea how many actually get
through - I expect at least one or two blackhole out there somewhere.
One particularly surprising bounce from the last issue was:

I know that she kept in contact with some of you.  Anybody know what happened?
[Surprising in that she was one of the more active contributors and I would
have expected her to give me some sort of warning - mind you, this appeared
to be from videovax's neighbor deciding that they didn't know videovax anymore]
 
I periodically make very blunt hints in rec.pets about the ferret mailing
list in rec.pets.  Last one between one and two months ago.  Each one
generates a couple more membership requests.
