This is anon :-)

[Yup, I remembered]

I use Sci Diet too! Kang had a problem with his fur which cleared up
after changing his diet to Sci Diet. I suplement with something called
"NutraCal" from the vet which is a high concentrate of vitamins and
calories in an easy to digest form. They love to lick it from fingers.

I use the chlorophyl litter. It comes in pellets (looks like rabbit food)
and it doesn't get tracked around that much. Of course, my guys think that
putting themselves *next* to the litter box suffices, but since they're
in a cage it doesn't really matter so much :-)

I caged mine, to keep them safe, mostly, and to keep my stuffed animals
and shoes safe. (One stole stuffed animals, another loved to chew on
rubber). I had them in a 2x4x6 ft high cage, with 4 levels and ramps...
this housed 4 ferts at the most. I then moved it to outside (in fair
weather CA) and kept it sheltered and put in on the side, giving them
a 4x6 play area. It seemed to keep them quite happy. Part of the reason
for tilting it was that Rikki got too weak to climb up the ramps -
although his condition improved when we moved to this area from NJ.

Well, have you introduced them yet? I'll admit, I haven't introduced
Katherine to my last remaining ferret (it's been a year of gain and losses)
and she's 3.5 months old. He's a kinda rowdy one; I wish Rikki Tikki had
made it for her to meet. I'd imagine you have the same issues at cat and
dog owners - perhaps the ferret would more likely run away from those
grubby baby paws than bother the baby... guess you'll need to find out
with supervised play time.
