Chris,
I had one of the dogs in for shots and was talking to the
receptionist about my brother who is a vet on the east coast
(Peter Freyburger, Tonawanda, NY to advertise my family). I
mentioned that he did all of the common pets like ferrets, dogs,
and cats plus his partner likes bird and reptiles.

One of the customers asked what a ferret was and I went
into the spiel about Egyptian domestication, more friendly than
cats, etc. The receptionist disappeared and reappeared with a
LARGE male ferret. I said "Oh wow, hi Octavius, you're a real
big one" and draped him on my shoulders. The receptionist said
the Octavius wasn't his name and expressed suprise that he'd
recognized the name I used first time (a common trick for me, I
often even get the name that the humans have used before, too,
but animals Always answer to the name I use). I ended up winning
the customer over to the pro-ferret team, and finding a ferret-
friend and a friend-to-ferrets in the LA area.

Anyways, any anonymous members in LA might want to know.
