Hello  ::waving::
This is Rocky, Sean's ferret. I bet you never thought you'd hear from
me. I thought I'd come here to tell you all how my boy was fairing.
Sean is 12 years old now, and a good 85 lbs. He still has his freckles
but they have faded some like mine. He is closing out his sixth grade
year, his first year in middle school. Science is his favortite subject
now, although it's been quite a struggle for him. You see, he is in
regular Science with regular kids and no help. But he is passing ...
barely. It takes him hours to study for just one quiz. And that takes
time from me a little bit but that's okay, because I don't like being
around him when he's that stressed out anyway. His other classes are
going superbly. Math or English will be the next regular class for him.
The work has let up already and he has been spending lots of extra time
with me.

This month has been Autism Awareness month. This is when we all think
about autism, what it has meant to this family, how it affects Sean and
even me. This is also when we try to learn about new treatments, new
studies, and when we try to educate people a bit more about autism so
that their lives won't be so devastated if they are ever affected by it
in any way. It also helps Sean for as many people to know about it so
that he is understood. Sean is proud of his differences, just like I'm
proud to be different from other ferrets. His bedroom is so cool. I
love it in there with him. You should see his wall where he has pictures
and names of famous people up there who have some autistic traits!

I'm not autistic though. Not in the least. I'm just a little slow.
LOL. I'm still a fat chubby thing, and love to lay around on my back
looking up at people like an otter. Sean still tries to remember to
celebrate the 15th of every month for me ... sort of like a monthly
birthday. It's hard to remember my real birthday in December because
of the holidays. So lifes pretty good here with the Sean-man.

Monthly birthdays, 99 kisses on the head, being dressed up in top hats,
getting brushed, being talked to regularly ...... yah...... life's
preeeeeeeeeeeetty darn good!
