After looking some things up to help Wolfy with her Ferret Nation cage
questions, I found the FN cages on sale at www.ferret.com for $179.00.
That is Model 182 one of the new models which requires NO ASSEMBLY.
Shipping is also only $.99 cents for orders over $65.00, but this is
a limited time shipping special. I'm hoping it applies to the heavy
packages as well. They must go ground.

If you are not aware of it, FN cages were remodeled this past spring so
you didn't have to have as many arms as an octopus to hold the shelf in
place while putting in screws in the side panels and then repeating the
same with the sides and ends.

The old models are models 141 single, 142 double and 143 single add on.
New models are single 181, double 182 and add on 183.

The shelves have also been changed to be more like the bottom pans.

I have worked with many different cages in my own ferret business, at
the human society and different ferret shelters. I know you have a lot
of experience with ferrets too, but Nancy, I wouldn't trade my FN cages
for any other cage if they were all free and I had to pay for the FN.
They open wide with both doors and I can lean in without feeling like I
have to stand on my head to clean poop someone placed in the farthest
back, bottom corner that managed to dry on before I spotted it. Isn't
it always like that? Unless, maybe you are in a hurry and don't look
as closely as you should and you push the litter pan through a pile of
poopies someone has left as a special delivery in a special place! The
pans will pull out to ease the reach.

The only time I wished I was working with a different cage was at the
Ohio rescue where we had a few 6-8 very young ferrets in ferret nation
cages. OMG, little feet, noses and teeth were in all the wrong places,
too often attaching you your skin or clothes as you tried to withdraw
a hand from adding food or water to the cages or trying to extract one
ferret! That was one time a BIG opening was not a GOOD idea. Ah, the
memories.

For equal billing I also got my www.ferretdepot.com sale flyer. Many
items are on sale now like treats, lax nutrical, tone, cages, bedding
toys and furniture.

Hope this helps you care for your fuzzies, keep them safe, saves you
time, money and effort so you can enjoy each other.

Remember, if you can't take in a fuzzy, take a minute to say a prayer
that a loving family will. All it takes is for the thought to travel
to them. CR
