Hello fellow ferrets and peoples...

I just had a few comments that I would like to add. I have 3 ferrets.
Havock, Johnny and Tasha. Havock and Johnny both had their shots last year
in July and Tasha just had hers in November just before we purchased her. I
was wondering if it would be all right to have her shots done the same time
as Havock and Johnnys get done in the summer. It won't be a year for her
but it would be nice to be able to have their shots and exams done all at
the same time.

Another thing that I would like to know....I thought that I was pretty
educated about ferret illnesses but I am starting to doubt my self. I have
never had any problems with my ferrets being sick and I check them every day
for signs that my be related to a sickness. I am not quite sure what ECE is
and would like to know more about it. Does any one have any quick info for
me concerning this?

Also....all of my ferrets are currently going through the shedding period.
Havock though has also lost some weight. He appears to be healthy and even
eating but his weight has dropped in the last few weeks. I was wondering if
this may be normal being the time of year or if it my be something to be
concerned about.

Next...I know that the FAQ is informative but what exactly is this. I here
of all of you talking about it but I don't know what it is or where I may be
able to view this. Can some one tell me some info about it? Thanks.

I have also heard that there is something to help eliminate the hair balls
that may end up in my fuzzies tummies. They have never had this problem but
I wouldn't mind to start giving this to them being the time of year. Does
anyone know the name of it and HOW I can get it? I live in Edmonton,
Alberta, Can. and I have never seen any of this in the pet stores here.
Would I have to get it from a vet?

Some Comments were also made about the PJ 's Pet stores. I had bought 2 of
my 3 ferrets from pet stores and they both were PJ's. I think that the PJ's
here are very well educated on ferrets. When ever I go to look at the new
fuzzies they always have a bowl of fresh water that doesn't have yuckies in
it and they have a full bowl of food. They also have a box that they like
to sleep in and every time I go they have CLEAN towels in them. I have also
noticed that they don't put there ferrets in wood chips but they are on
something like a grate. All the yucky stuff falls through so they are never
standing in something wet or their waste. They also put a litter box in
with them that they end up using. When we bought our last ferret from
there, she was already litterbox trained and was only 14 weeks old. I have
never seen them mistreat their ferrets and some one is always holding them
and playing with them. I don't know about other pet stores but I am happy
with the pet store that I deal with.

Sorry that this is so long but I had a lot to say in this note. Thank you
to anyone who can give some input on these issues.

Havock, Johnny Tasha and Mommy(Theresa)

[Moderator's note: I've forwarded the FAQ to Theresa. In case there are
others also wondering how to get the FAQ, note the top of every issue of
the FML briefly mentions how to get it. BIG]
