I just want to add a quick note on to yesterdays post about shelters... I
do not believe that people should blindly donate to anyone who says they
are a shelter - it's always a good idea to check out who you are donating
things to if you don't know them.
 
Word of mouth is a great way of doing this, if anyone is worried about (or
just checking) a shelter, asking about that shelter should give responses
on what they are like, whether people have heard of them, etc.
 
I just thought I'd clarify that :o)  There *are* frauds out there, although
they are far fewer in number than the 'real' shelters.  It would be a sad
day to see good shelters shut down because of the 'bad shelters' and frauds
out there.
