Dear FMLers and their fuzzy kin alike,

This is Nibbles, a concerned NJ fuzzy confused and annoyed by what my
mommy tells me is going on in the ferret community. My mommy does not
make much money, and doesn't have much time, but she spends every free
second she can working to better the lives of ferrets, and she donates
food and vet money to her particular Ferret Shelter (name excluded to
avoid unwanted attention) even when she doesn't have enough for herself.
She says that it helps to better the lives of needy ferrets, and she can
forego a lunch or two to assist. She volunteers there, cleans up after
the fuzzies, advertises, and networks, without any hope of payment other
than the knowledge that if even one fuzzy gets a new home and a better
life, it was worth it. My brother and sister stay at the shelter on
extended board until mommy can bring them home, and she knows that
although they share the attention of the operators with other fuzzies,
they are still being loved and are happy.

I am very very very agitated about the responses to Steve and Cheryl
Resnick's situation. I don't know them personally, but I thought that
everyone in the ferret community had a common goal. These flaming posts
and nasty responses to their methods make me sick. My sister MJ agrees.
Instead of worrying about who likes who, or who mouthed off to so-and-so
at the last show, or who was a know-it-all with unbending ideas on how
things should be done, you should all be looking at the big picture.
Homeless fuzzies need assistance!!!!!! Who cares who spends the money on
ADV tests, or who has twenty volunteers, or who gets involved with the
politics enough to deserve help? Steve and Cheryl, and likewise the
operators at our local shelter and so many others, are doing something
to help. Flaming them will not help. Why not volunteer a day and walk
in their shoes? Why not donate time, or advertising, or SUPPORT (not
necessarily monetary) so that they know that what they are doing is the
right thing? The ferret shelters are few and far between in proportion
to the number of fuzzies in need of their help. The ferret community
can not afford to lose ANY of these places and these people need help.
Detach yourself from the politics for one second and you'll see that it's
all a joke. WE ALL LOVE FERRETS!!!

Everyone should take a step back and realize exactly what they have
become. We ferrets never lose sight of the common goal, but you
narrow-minded humans are too easily distracted by opinion differences
to stay on track. WAKE UP AND SEE WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!! YOU ARE
DESTROYING THE POTENTIAL FUTURES OF FUZZIES BY REFUSING YOUR SUPPORT.

Mommy gets involved with politics marginally, because this community
makes it impossible to avoid, but she does not let it cloud her judgement
and mind to what needs to happen regardless. The priority must be the
continued care and the futures of homeless fuzzies worldwide. Think
about my brothers and sisters and forget about yourselves. That is why
you all got involved originally isn't it?
