Hi all. We were having mail problems over here on Wednesday, and as a result
I didn't receive issue #950. I've tried getting it from the listserver, but
it says it's not yet available. If some kind soul could email me a copy I'd
appreciate it. Better still, to keep my mailbox from being inundated with
copies of issue #950, if you plan to mail me a copy please mail me first
asking if someone else already has. Thanks.

Well, once again I'm losing the battle of wits with my ferrets. Specifically
the new guy, Sammy. He's gotten into the habit of knocking over the garbage
can so he can play with all the neat garbage inside :P. So I attached an angle
bracket to the side of the can, with a bolt sticking down, and attached another
bracket to the fridge, like so:

so that you have to lift the garbage can straight up to move it. But when I
came in the kitchen yesterday he had managed to knock it over anyway (granted,
it was almost empty). Back to the drawing board.

Also last night, I had locked Sammy in his cage, only to find later that he
had escaped. None of my ferrets has escaped from that cage in my 2.5 years of
ferret parenting (maybe I shoulda named him Houdini). Looks like by digging
at the door he managed to spring one latch free, and then squeezed out. I've
adjusted the latch so you have to pull in *and* down to free it (it used to
pull down by itself); we'll see if that works any better.

I just got a letter from Jeanne Carley about her ferret calendar, including
a sample calendar cover with all the pictures on the back. I'll be ordering
one right away, and I'd recommend it for all the ferret-philes out there.

>About those darn bugs in the litter,

Hehe. Litter bugs :).

Anyway, I guess I've rambled pointlessly for long enough. Bye.

John, Buddy, Cassidy, and Sammy
