This is not ferret related, but does anyone know where I could find a
copy of the law regarding possession of wild feathers, or is it just a
local law in NC?

As a reporter, and as summer drew to a close, I was writing a story for
harried Moms about what to do with your children that would keep them
busy and not cost a lot of money. Summer was almost over, and there was
"nothing to do." I wrote about panning for gold, in streams that could
have or in which gold flakes had been found at some time in the last 350
years..

You would have thought I had blown up the bridge. The Stream Alteration
Engineer nearly beheaded me.

What child, say 5 to 12 years of age, armed with a shovel and a pie
plate, is going to do major damage to a stream bed. A moose, walking
through would do more, and heaven forbid, he lifted his tail. What
then!!!

I finally was able to write my story, publish it, and they would only
need a permit if they used earth moving equipment. These kids were in
bathing suits, had plastic shovels, grandma's pie plates, were sitting
in a small shallow brook, having a h*** of a time.

Batteries not required.

Marilyn and the gang at Ledoux Hospice - forgive me, I took a moment
away from composting the poop to share this with you, if B prints it.

Feel free to laugh, then watch how Uncle spend your tax payer dollars,
next item, Depends for Moose.
