In reference to your question:
>Does anyone know anything about the competence of a vet hospital called
>Alameda East for treating ferts?

Yes, I do. We live in Aurora, Colorado and are only a couple of blocks
from Alameda East Emergency Hospital.

My ferrets have been there every week for the past 2 1/2 months and have
gotten to know Dr. Fitzgerald very well. (Is it okay to give out names,
BIG?) [Yes]

We saw 2 other doctors before getting in with Dr. Fitzgerald, and all of
them were licensed DVMs. I don't think they allow the interns to work
on the animals alone, they should have a licensed DVM with them on all
cases--after all, they are still learning and these guys know how
important our babies are to us.

Dr. Fitzgerald is the resident expert on exotics, and my boys only see
him now. He is a great vet, and calls my boys "HIS weasels"! I highly
recommend him. He loves ferrets so much and it shows with his bedside
manner.

If you want to know more, please email me and I will write you off-list.
It's nice to see someone else in Colorado, even if you are a little far
from me! Anybody else in the Denver area? Sure would like to see some
other ferret-friendly people!
