I seem to remember seeing an article in the entertainment section of the
L.A. Times a few years ago profiling some soap-opera hunk-of-the-month
mentioning that he lives modestly in a West L.A. apartment with his two
ferrets, and thinking to myself, "Well, *that* was a dumb thing to tell the
reporter!" A celebrity who so exposes themself risks the loss of a furry
friend.

In any case, this is not the sort of issue that lends itself to
celebrity spokesfolk, because it is not a "grass roots" sort of
issue that will muster widespread public support that translates
to votes or letters to representatives. The work is done `behind
the scenes' with legislators and government officials, and `celebrity
spokespersons' do not carry significant weight with those types.
