Just to clarify: the reason that urinary pH matters is because when it
raises things like bladder stones form.  These are a documented problem,
and have been mentioned by ferret owners here on occasion as well as in the
medical texts.  Fortunately, the incidence reported in the FML seems to
have greatly decreased since the early FML years, very likely due to there
now being better foods available.  See my other post for the location in
James Fox's veterinary ferret text, _Biology and Diseases of the Ferret,
second edition_ in which you can find this information if you wish to
verify it.  This text has EXTENSIVE and DETAILED information on ferret
nutritional needs for those who are interested.
