Hi Folks,
I've been out here lurking for some time--terribly busy with work and
preparation for vacation. I just caught myself up on the whole Kodo mess
and was much appalled. What belfry are those bureaucrats "hanging" out in?
Glad to see the upswell of support.

Many questions re fleas--I'll see our condo exterminator tomorrow and ask
what he uses. It is odorless, after two hours on the carpet it is harmless
(dries out), he says it is non-toxic to pets once it dries. It was
guaranteed for six months when last summer we had a terrible infestation.
Here in Florida fleas are a major problem as we have no cold season to kill
them off. You might ask how we got infested on the 14th floor of a hi-rise
and I can only guess that we bring them in on our shoes if we happen to go
out on the grounds. In any case, this stuff worked--although we did need
two applications. Our guy gave us a special delicate, "natural" shampoo
also. I can only say that our babies--Bonnie and Clyde--wait at tubside for
their baths and don't fuss about this citrus smelling stuff, and it works.
When we were badly infested, droves of fleas--fat engorged ones I hate to
say--would fall off dead in the bath water. We dry the babies off and they
never showed any signs of illness or behavioral or other changes after a
bath. Their fur is beautiful also--soft and fuzzy--just right! I
understand this is available only from exterminators, but I'm not sure:
Pest Control Products, P.O. Box #18993, Memphis TN 38181-0993 EPA reg. #
4758-141; EPA est. # 11715-TN-1; Product Code 1-35 The only warnings are
about its possible irritation to eyes, and not using on under six week old
kittens/puppies.
Flea and Tick Shampoo (for dogs and cats) Conditions coat and deodorizes
(very temporary in the ferts!). Composition: d-limonene 5.0%, inert
ingredients 95.0%.

Regarding a Ferret owners' motto: We use this all the time in education to
refer to praise handed out to kids to encourage them, but it also fits our
babies: Need a Warm Fuzzie? Try a Ferret!

More later,
