Hairball's in ferrets are very dangerous.  I would recommend giving your
ferret a good dose of vaseline, plain old vaseline, like every 3 hours or
so, and if it doesn't help your ferret pass the hairball in a 24 hr period,
surgery is a must.  Blockages are the number one reason for young ferrets
death.
