Monday night I checked on Zini and gave meds at 9:30pm. He was acting
fine, took his meds and went back to cuddle with Willow. At 11:30 went
back to check on him and found him in a comotose state having violent
siezures. I took him to bed with me and at 3am I awoke to check on him,
he was still comotose. Woke up at 4:30 and he was in the same state,
Gave him his phenebarbetol and rubbed his throat to help him swallow. He
felt too warm so I decided to take his temerature, it read 104 degrease.
I put him in a 1/2 filled sink with lukewarm water and rinsed his head
and face as well as his body. He stayed there for about 5 min., then I
took him out and dryed him off. Ran back downstairs and gave him Trimox.
Within 10 min. he was looking around and moving again, so I put him
back in his cage and he started to eat. A friend said that a bactirial
infection can cause siezures. Has any one had or heard of something
simular to this? I can't get him into the vet right now, and I will
only see my vet as she's the one who did the surgery and follow ups.
Any idea of what this may be, I'm stumped.
