Well, I did it.  I went back to Petco and bought the cute little toe-biter.
I was afraid someone who doesn't understand or love ferrets the way I do
would buy her and make her miserable.
 
I must say she is certainly a scrappy little girl.
 
My Marley and Ella, who are 6 and a half years old, welcomed her without a
blink.  I watched very carefully for any aggressive behavior and observed
none.  When she got tired, she got into Marley's hammock and curled right
up to him and went to sleep.
