Is it possible when you sprayed the conditioner she inhaled some of it?
That might account for her temporary rapid breathing.  Ferrets are so
small and it doesn't take much of anything to upset the natural balance.
Remember what it's like if you inhale hair spray or something similar?
 
You might also want to think about having a fasting glucose to cover all
bases.  I know this sounds farfetched, but when I would give Mickey a
bath, he would become wobbly and fall down afterwards.  Turns out he had
insulinoma.  I gave him a little Nutrical prior to and after baths, and
that took care of the wobbly bath episodes.
