LOL--Our situation was an ideal one. I wouldn`t suggest that the
average vet even attempt this.

WE were lucky, because our dentist is a true ferret lover. She actually
got down on the floor with them, in the comfort of their own home, &
PLAYED with them! She snuggled each, and won its trust before the
procedure began.

Most vets like animals in general, but are not real ferret lovers.

In nearly nine years of rescuing & sanctuary work, only ONE of our
vets has EVER kissed one of our furkids. This was Dr. Leonard who
(you guessed it!) had actually OWNED a ferret!

Whether you`re into animal communicating or not, most of you will agree
how ferrets seem to sense if someone really likes them or not. Every
ferret here absolutely loved Lisette--(even Fifi The Biter! LOL.)
They mobbed her, when she got down on the floor with them. They were
comfortable, & felt secure in their own surroundings. There was trust,
and no fear. Some struggled a bit during their exams, because they
didn`t like the few minutes` restraint, but when Lisette was done,
they climbed right back into her lap, & got another kiss.

Dental work is only a part of most vets` busy days, but Lisette does
teeth all day, EVERY day--and she is extremely efficient & quick at
it!!! There was no way to power an engine, so she couldn`t do
ultrasonic cleanings here, but it was amazing how she popped the
nasties off with her magic tools, & exposed beautiful white teeth!

Many of our little ones have health issues, and would really be at
risk, if put under anesthesia. I can`t tell you how good their mouths
look now--and how much we appreciate all of Lisette`s extra love &
patience with them.

Zoo`s Ferret Sanctuary has been truly blessed with such wonderful,
caring friends. Lisette has been very, very good to our fuzzies.
