Hello Everyone! I wanted to update everyone on my little girl, Sabrina. I
wrote last week asking for advice since she had some kind of abcess in her
throat. She's scheduled to go to the vet on monday, so keep your fingers
crossed. Thank you to everyone who wrote me with their thoughts and advice.
It meant a lot to me!

I read a posting a few weeks ago about a ferret play-pen. Has anyone seen
one of these or used one? I like the idea of having somewhere to put my
babies, instead of their cage, when I'm doing housework, running the vacuum,
etc. I'd really like to know more about them.

Yesterday I went to the Pet Expo at the Harrisburg Pa Farm Show. I was
hoping there would be ferrets represented, and sure enough!!!! I lucked out
and got there in time to hear a presentation by the President of The
Susquehanna Ferret Club. She did a great job, and her baby did such a good
job of just sitting there looking cute! It must have been the lights or
noise, but he was Very Good! They had a booth there, as well as Starfire's
Ferrets. They had great handouts on just about any and everything regarding
ferrets. I was pleased to meet everyone, and if you're reading this, you
were very helpful. Thank you!

While at the Pet Expo, I purchased a couple of the de-odor rods I've been
reading about. One is about 4" long, and went on the side of a litter box.
The other one is about 18" long, and comes with straps so that it can be
hung on the outside of a cage. I intended to put that on the ferts cage
today, but they have taken it somewhere. I looked for almost an hour this
morning, but can't find it. I'll try again this afternoon. Anyway, has
anyone used these? They are suppose to be all-natural, can last up to a
year, and contain some type of rock that absorbs odor. Did they see me
coming or what??? I'll let you know how they work.

Once things settle down with Sabrina's situation, I'll be looking to adopt
another fert. It's a perfect fit for both me and the babies now that I work
out of my home. My two spend very little time in their cage, I have lots of
time to hold and play with them and most importantly, take good care of
them. The reason I'm writing this to fellow FML-ers is that I'll be
adopting from a shelter, so please keep me in mind. I'm in central Pa, only
90 miles from DC, and could easily travel to a shelter. I also travel to my
parents house in Yorktown VA , and will be doing so for Christmas. Any
shelters in the Frederick, Md, Northern Va, Richmond, Williamsburg, or there
abouts that have some ferts for adoption, please drop me a note.

One last item is our new game. At night, take the ferts into a room (or use
your whole house if you like) turn off the lights, and turn on a flashlight.
My two have a blast chasing the light, trying to catch me to get that light,
put the flashlight face down, and they dook all over the place. Looks like
two Indians dancing around a muted bonfire. Well, it works for us, so I
thought I'd share.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the sick fuzzbuns out there!
Penny
Parker "I snached this big flashlight from mom's bag, but it doesn't work!"
Sabrina " I don't remember the other light machine having rocks inside it..."
