Hello FMLers,

In case you have not seen the first mock up cover of the new Ferrets
magazine, premiering January, there will be an article about how to ferret
proof your home, room by room.

I'm the author of this article, and since all of us have different homes,
furniture, ferrets, etc. there is no way I can know EVERYTHING to cover
EVERYTHING. So, I'm asking for your help.

Think of the most unusual or dangerous place that you never heard of a
ferret getting into before, that YOUR ferret got into, and tell me how you
ferret proofed it, and do this in 100 words or LESS, and I'll feature the
most dramatic in the article for your 15 minutes of fame.

Example:

"My ferret, Natty Gann, lived up to her name as a great adventurer. One day
I heard scratching in the wall in the unfinished basement. I threaded a
towel over the drywall into the hollow space, and up she climbed. This
motivated us to install a false ceiling, and cut holes in the lower wall,
covering them with vent covers so we can get into the wall again if a ferret
ever gets past the ceiling. Natty had climbed a stack of boxes, reached the
top, and slipped in between the studs. - Pamela Grant, VA"

If nothing else, your stories will give me a perspective into ferret
proofing that I have not come across yet in my own experiences. You just
might be saving a ferret's life with your contribution to this article, even
if your story does not get in or you are not given "credit".

Rules:
*   100 words or less
* e-mail to : [log in to unmask]
*   ONE submission per household
* cut off date is August 30
* Subject line should read - "Ferret Proofing story"

Consulation prize might be that if I receive a whole bunch of really good
stories, I'll run the ones I didn't use in the Ferrets magazine in STAR*
Ferrets December 97 issue.

Thanks a lot ahead of time for your help.
