My husband used to live on a farm and yes, when the cows sleep standing up,
you can sneak up and push them over!  From what my husband says, it really
pisses them off.
 
He's also told me how kids would use a dead cow as a trampoline ... (bloated
with gas, I guess they're springy).  Gets real dull out in the boondocks, I
guess!
