I do agree with you to a certain point ......... it's not only with fuzzy
animals ....... how many humans out there that have children and are not
fit to raise children?  How many children out there are passed along to
grandparents, aunts, uncles or stuck in foster homes, how many of these
children are sexually and/or emotionally/mentally abused ........... or
babies being abandoned on the streets?  Yet there is nothing saying that
these humans cannot reproduce.
 
The sad truth is that all animals are just another consumer product
 
It has been years since i have bought a ferret ..... for the couple of
years all i have done is adopt ferrets from others that for whatever
reason cannot care for theirs any longer ..... and will continue to do
so ......... and will commend those that care enough to try and find
their babies good loving homes.
 
In fact i just adopted one last night ......... a beautiful baby (all my
ferrets are babies and they are far from kits).  It was very hard for the
person that i got her from to give this baby up ..... the person was in
tears, but realized that ferrets were not for them.
 
As far as breeders go .......... some can be just as irresponsible and
worse then pet store ferrets.
