Hi AMy-
 
It truly sounds like he has an established ulcer.  I am very surprised
the vet did not inform yout hat in many many cases it takes up to a
month for a full blown ulcer to heal.  That means Amoxy & pepto for more
than a week!.  The sad part is because the treatment was ended you need
to start from he beginning again!
