Suspect is still behind bed and will not relinquish until all demands are
met.

Suspect has demanded watermelon and ferretone or claims that slipper will
never be recovered in one piece.

Suspect demands more watermelon.  Still has slipper.
 
020:05 Hours
We don't want to give in but suspect insists that slipper is a "goner".
 
020:07  Hours
Owner of slipper gives ok to grant demands of suspect.
 
020:08 Hours
Suspect eats watermelon and decides to turn himself in.  Slipper is
unscathed.  Suspect is arrested and sentenced to five minutes of kisses
and hugs by owner.
 
020:25 Hours
Suspect attempts to break into refrigerator and take entire watermelon as
hostage.
 
020:26 Hours
No further hostage negotiations (till tomorrow).
