Since, according to several people, it appears Marshall Farms may be
shipping kits too young...
 
Does anyone know what the laws are about shipping unweaned animals?  either
NY State law or US Dept Agric or APHIS or whoever regulates shipping animals
to pet stores?
 
Perhaps there is a regulation or law being broken here, if anyone has
time/energy to investigate. Just a thought.

ANIMAL CARE TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING IN MAY
WASHINGTON, April 15, 1998--The U.S.  Department of Agriculture's Animal
and Plant Health Inspection Service animal care program is holding a public
meeting to discuss current Animal Welfare Act issues and initiatives
affecting researchers, transporters, exhibitors, and dealers.
 
"The meeting will provide valuable insights into our enforcement of the
AWA," said Michael V.  Dunn, assistant secretary for marketing and
regulatory programs.  "Anyone affected by the Act should consider
attending."
 
The public meeting will be held at the USDA Conference Center, 4700 River
Road, Riverdale, Md.  20737, on Tuesday, May 12.  Advance registration is
requested by May 6, and attendance may be limited based on public response.
 
Onsite registration will take place from 7 a.m.  until 9 a.m.  the day of
the meeting.  The meeting will begin immediately after registration and end
at 5 p.m.
