Sara Ferret, can you check in on Butch for me? Butchie was my first
little boy ferret and has set the standard for all the rest. Butchie was
helped to the bridge on February 13, 2004. I'd come home the night
before and he was in bad shape. He couldn't walk and was crying all the
time.

We spend the night cuddling together and his brother CB stayed close. At
5:30 AM I knew I couldn't wait for my vet to open so I took him to the
emergency vet and they released him from his pain.

Butch's necropsy came back with no explanation for what I happened but
in my heart I knew. His beloved Maggie had left him in September and
little Chloe in January and I know he missed them very much. While the
cataracts impaired his vision, I know he could always see his lovely
Maggie Margaret. You will find Butch and Maggie together and they will
be easy to recognize. They are beautiful silver mitts. Butchie was a
dark black nose and is very proud of the fact he won Blackest Nose at the
MAFF Halloween Frolic in October 2000. He is gentle and kind except if
some other boy ferret gets near his Maggie. CB loved Maggie deeply and
one day Butchie head butted him down 4 steps to show his displeasure at
sharing his lady. There is not a day that goes by without me thinking of
my family at the rainbow bridge. I know their health is restored and
they are playing together, wrecking havoc on everyone around them. I
know they look down us. And I'm quite sure that Butch has figured out a
way to talk to JD. A few months ago JD head butted CB down those same
steps for no reason. People who didn't know Butch had crossed to the
bridge have mistaken JD for Butch. They never met and their colors are
different but JD certainly had Butchie energy!

I love you Big Man Butch! Keep watching out for us down here!
Love always, Connie, CB, JD, Piper and Penelope

there is not enough. We have a higher mission - to be of service to them
