Hello,

I have a friend who owned a ferret who died from distemper. I didn't
hear it from the person, I heard it from my vet who said the person gave
me as a reference for credit. It was in 1997. While that was some time
ago, more recently we had a post in #2004-4491 there was a distemper
outbreak in racoons in Portland. Distemper can be carried in on your
shoes, so I would be very careful.

In response to the Merial thing, we need to write letters, get our
vets to write letters, and tell Merial that we are not happy about
them discontinuing the production of Purevax. We got Ben Stiller to
apologize, maybe we can get Merial to produce the vaccine!
