It seems strange to me to think that some people in your country really
beleive that large ferret breeders exist to supply the pet trade!  They
were set up to provide animals for research labs, fur farms and the like.
Of course they were, that is where the money is, that is why they are such
a large enterprise.  But before you all get too hot under the collar, it
was these large breeders who financed and carried out all the research
into ferret ailments, and found effective cures.  After all, if you have
invested a huge amount of money into animals, you dont want those
animals[investment], to go and die on you, do you?
 
So everyone who keeps ferrets should not be too hard on the big breeders,
or animal research, as it is these places that may have helped to save
your ferrets life.
