The problem that I and most vets have with raw diets is bacterial
infection with E.coli or Salmonella.  I really do think ferrets need a
high protein, high fat, low carbohydrate diet (ie the Atkins diet for
ferrets), but I do think it should be cooked to avoid serious and
potentially fatal bacterial infections.
