Grab your kleenex- the young ferrets most certainly will be destroyed! I
just got a call here at the shelter from a man who identified himself as
the regional manager of Petco. He said he applauds my passion BUT: He
then relayed to me the fact that the ferrets were moved from the Keene ,
NH Store at 9:10 PM. ( this when at 8:30 PM I talked to Michelle the
manager and SHE stated no contact had been made form anyone!

According to the Petco rep!

They the( 10 ferret kits) are supposedly PRESENTLY being returned to
Animals Etc. and he was assured by the general Manager or Animals Etc.,
ALex they will NOT be euthanized.

[He would like to see written proof that sick returned fererts are
euthanized- he certainly does not believe me!]

IF ANYONE OUT THERE believes this lets give PETCO a round of applause. I
heard about how wonderful Petco is because they spend money on veterinary
care- I was reminded the ferrets had seen a vet- I was reminded they were
on meds for coccidia ( though the manager had no idea what when I asked
her)!

He DID tell me they are using ANIMALS ETC in response to the publics
plea not to sell Marshall Farms ferrets! So we went from not great to
TERRIBLE! I stand in AWE of the refusal of PETCO CORPORATE to work with
licensed shelters who could assure the animals health and a loving home,
instead to use corporate jargon and excuses to allow the euthanasia of
ferrets hipped too young into the petstore!.

So who is still shopping at PETCO?

NOt us!

Alicia
very disheartened but not totally surprise at Petco.
