Hi,

You know I really gotta agree with what Lynn said about the albino ferrets.
I too did not much care for the idea of having a little ruby eyed albino
fert. I never went looking for that specifically but I did try to look for
ferts advertised for sale that were in bad home-life situations. I just
happened across RACY and her brother Lightstar. Lightstar is your basic
chocolate sable? but RACY was an albino. She immediately cuddled up and
kissed my ear and face when I held her the first time and I fell instantly
in love. Lightstar was totally uninterested in me at that point. RACY the
sweet dear was totally blind and deaf but she got along perfectly. She
could defend herself if needed and perhaps with more of a vengeance than any
other fert I've had. But she usually only did that to another fert once
just to let them know she would take no crap just because she had what she
considered "minor" disabilities. Once she became my daughter I loved her as
much as any other fert in my family. At that point her being an albino made
her special to me since she was the only one. I then saw her as beautiful
because of her personality and her coloring did not really matter. I am
glad she was with me tho the time was way too short, only 2 months before
she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. ( And thanks to her I have the now loviest
ferret on earth, her brother Lightstar) I actually look forward to having
another little albino join my family someday. When I see tiny albino kits
in the petstore on occasion it is extremely hard not to pull out the plastic
and take one home. All albinos now remind me of RACY whom I loved with all
my heart and miss dearly every day. So you really might consider going
ahead with an albino, or 2 or 3 or ..., you can always find one with the
coloring you really wanted later on. Plus you will be giving a ferret a
great home that really needs one since no one seems to want these little
guys. After all you have to consider ferret math in these cases. I started
with 2 planning on never having more than that. It is now 9 months later
and I have "10" in residence and RACY makes a total of 11 ferts that have
been or are in my family. Like the potatoe chip saying "You can't eat just
one" only here it is "You can't just love and care for one"! Just a thought
since you so desperately want to have ferret children right away. Good luck
whatever you decide.
