Hi Chris--
I was worried about this too after I had my navel pierced, especially as
Amelia sleeps curled up against my belly at night. Luckily she wasn't
interested in removing the ring, and I wonder if in part it was because I
used a rather nasty smelling antiseptic on the piercing for quite a while
(I think it was called Bactine, or something like that). So, maybe if you
put something she'll hate the taste or smell of on the ring, it would make
her lose interest? Bitter Apple is a popular choice for this kind of job,
if that's available where you are.

Dooking: I always called it chortling (as in "he chortled in his glee") or
burbling. To me it sounds like they are saying brk brk brk, not dook at
all. Except for Cully, who said geef geef geef, and sounded like Ernie
from Sesame Street giggling, so he definitely giggled. :)
