Several people were charged a $25 pet cleaning fee on their Symposium
hotel bills even though they did not have any ferrets in their rooms.
The Sheraton has investigated, and discovered that one overzealous
housekeeper decided anyone with a cage in their room should be charged,
whether or not pets were seen in that room. That housekeeper has been
fired.

The hotel has apologized profusely for the mistake, and these charges
will be reversed.

It may take another billing cycle or two for the reversals to show up
on your credit cards. If the issue is not resolved, please contact one
of the IFC committee members or you may call the Sheraton directly and
ask to speak to Jeremy Duncan, the sales manager.

We also apologize for the mistake. Once the hotel management found out
what had happened, they were very forthcoming with correcting the
problem.
