A while back I went in my local Petco & was very discouraged to find the
ferret enclosure stuffed with at least 10 ferrets!!  It was filthy &
they were all laying all over each other & in their own excrement, etc.
I had purchased my Raisin & my Kiwi (Kiki for short) there & Kiwi had &
still has some behavioral issues which I attribute in some part to this
environment.  I immediately went home & e mailed Petco Corporate how
upset & disturbed I was.  I told them that I expected the situation to be
remedied & I would be checking on it periodically.  I received an e mail
back from them saying that they checked with the store & there were only
5 ferrets in the enclosure (a lie-I was just there) but that they would
be working to correct the issue.  They assured me that the ferrets do
get run time out to play (an hour, which I guess is better than nothing).
Anyway, I went into Petco last night to get my rabbit an indoor cage for
the winter & they had 6 ferrets separated into 2 cages!!  Everything was
very clean, too!!  I feel great b/c at least they did something about it.
I know it was small, but it was something.
