To Fran Schreiber: I live in New Jersey, Rahway to be specific, and have
an EXCELLENT vet. Her name is Dr. King, and she works at Clark Animal
Hospital in Clark, NJ. Why don't you give her a call; her number is
388-3379. My beloved little ferret Scooter developed congestive heart
failure last September, and Dr. King and the rest of the staff at Clark
Animal Hospital were SO wonderful with him. I finally had to get him
put to sleep in April, but their kind treatment helped greatly in this
crisis. Both Fred and Waldorph, my rabbit LOVE being boarded at Clark
Animal Hospital, as they are treated like royalty there. (Wally gets
to bring his own cage, and gets his own room for it, with his own air
conditioner and a refrigerator for his carrots!!!!!) You could also
try Central Jersey Veterinary Emergency Service in a pinch - it's in
Iselin, NJ. I rushed Fred there several times when he was very ill, and
they also have a very knowledgable, caring staff and see a lot of ferrets.
There number is 283-3535; both Clark A.H. and Central Jersey Vet Emergency
are in the 908 area code. Hope this helps!

P.S. I now own an ADORABLE little three month old ferret named Scooter -
the most rambunctious creature on the face of the earth!
