I have a six month old female sable who is my baby!! Two days a go she
wasnt being her self, sleeping more than normal, not eating, not drinking.
I let it go until in the middle of the night she woke me and had a
mucas/blood stool. I brought her to the vet and he said there was only
slight blood in her stool and that she had colonitis, a problem with her
colon. He gave her a shot and gave me Chlorom. Palmitate to give her twice
daily for seven days. If there is no sucess with that we will have to bring
her in for blood work and x-rays. I am really worried because where im from
ferrets are newly legal and I dont think the vets know that much about them.
I would like to know if any of you have had a problem like this in the past.
Also, we just got a baby male sable and are not sure how long we should keep
them seperated. We would really appreciate any input.

Thanks
Pam and Tony
