The other night when I was out exercising Alison and Natasja a
police patrol car approaching us switched on all of its
headlights. At first I didn't understand what it was they'd try
to see better, but when they pulled up next to us and stopped, I
realised it was the reflexes that'd attracted their attention.

The driver opened the window and asked me what kind of animal I
had, so I picked them both up and showed her. Both of the
officers said they thought my ferrets were nice, which is good to
hear, since if I ever lose one of them again, it may not be me
who find them, which means they'll be turned in to the police.

I've heard of a place further north where the police had taken
charge of a ferret and didn't dare to touch it -- because they
thought it was a mink. Wouldn't want that to happen to mine.
