The International Ferret Congress is pleased to announce that it has
given a $1,000.00 grant to Dr. Matti Kuipel and Dr. Mike Garner to
complete a research project on DIM (disseminated idiopathic myositis,
also called idiopathic polymyositis).
 
The purpose of the project, as I understand it, is to definitively
eliminate protozoa and corona viruses as the causal agent.  While this
is a long way from finding the actual cause, and determining treatments,
it is important to complete and publish in order to increase interest
and knowledge of this dreadful new disease that has been striking young
ferrets.
