Has anyone heard of systitis (sp?) in ferrets? I haven't seen it mentioned in
the mailing list and recently heard of it.

[Cystitis. It usually means, I think, a bladder infection. I had
Haemorhagic (sp?) Cystitus when I was 16.]

Some people I know have a ferret who is probably around a year and a half.
They took him to the vet recently because he appeared to be having trouble
urinating and it was a dark color. The vet (in Vermont) didn't know what was
wrong and contacted someone in New Jersey who informed her how to treat the
ferret. My understanding is that it is similar to kidney stones. From what
they said, systitis is very life threatening for ferrets. Does anyone know
anything else about this disease? Thanks
