I did a bout of raw feeding of homemade 4 life, and now makes chicken
gravy. it took some of them a little bit to adjust to it, but they did
adjust. the ones that don't take to it as fast I just spoon feed. when
I first started making the gravy, I turn it into a puree. it was pretty
darn yummy (until I put in the nutrical..). the kids will eat the pureed
gravy and lick the bowl clean. it wasn't great for their teeth though,
so I started making it more like hamburger (I use a meat grinder). what
they started doing then is to just lick all the liquid off, leaving the
meat all smoothed up against a bowl. I decided that these guys are
pampered enough already, I'll be damned if I do their chewing for them
as well, so I started holding them one by one and spoon feeding them
lumps. after a few weeks, they started to eat the lumps on their own.
I'm currently experimenting with just grinding up the bones, fat and half
the meat, and cutting the rest of the meat into small chunks. seem to be
going okay. my friend also makes "gravy" for her kids, and she said they
prefer it a little bit raw. the "rarity" of my gravy varies a bit, I'm
not a consistent cook.

but my kids did not adjust to raw feed or gravy in a couple of days, and
it took them even longer to adjust to chewing meat ;). they also love
their kibble, especially since I started adding Evo to the mix. they
are addicted to that stuff..
